CC Prague's First Sunday Service!

"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" Psalm 133:1

...and it was sweet as our small group gathered together for our first Sunday morning service!

In some ways it was no different than what Jason and Tomaš have faithfully been doing for almost a year now...teach-ing the Word verse by verse with translation into Czech. The only difference was the location! Instead of in Jason's apt., now we have this great building!

But what is a church, really? Not the building, but the people, of course, and we were blessed with help from some wonderful people from Roudnice this first Sunday.

Franta and Alysia came and shared their talent in music and worship.

Alysia's husband Zdenek and their two daughters joined us, too.

After service it was a good time for folks to hang out with some coffee and snacks and just get to know each other better.

And so although the church is the people, we are blessed to have this great building that has not just a place for the serivce to meet, but also room enough for people to hang around afterwards and fellowship. We are blessed!

We have a lot of room to grow in this location and we pray, and believe that God will fill it in His timing and His way! Thank you so much for your prayers! Please continue to pray for us here in Prague

Outreach to Roudnice

This past Saturday we were able to lend a minstry hand to a brother. Roudnice is a little town about an hour by train outside of Prague where Milan and his family have been living for a few years. They have been faithfully serving in the face of discouraging odds. People have been slow in responding and their little fellowship is small, but we believe God will bless in His time. So it was great to be a part of an outreach with them and continue to plant seeds. (We had our own outreach in Prague recently with a team from the Bible School in Hungary, and there will be more about that here soon.)

Roudnice is an historical town with a small hill that is said to be the place of the very first Czech settlement. It is also considered a "holy" place by those who practice pagan religions and many gather there at various times. This past weekend there was a sort of county fair held at the base of this hill outside of Roudnice.

We (Jason, Noelle, Cara and our friend Elizabeth who is in Prague teaching English) joined Milan and folks from his fellowshipo to hand out gospel tracts. We were there most of the day Saturday and were able to hand out about 2,ooo tracts!

All of us were praying as we handed the tracts out. Praying that God would get them to the right people in the right time. Praying that His Word would go deep. Praying that new life would spring up, watered by the Spirit. As we saw the different people wandering around, looking for entertainment at the fair, our hearts were really broken for some people that seemed to be so hurting. Noelle and Cara really felt moved by a group of Roma girls (gypsies) that were there. They refused the tracts at first, but then took them and we prayed for healing in their hearts and lives and that they would come to know the Prince of Peace. We are praying for an in-road with the Roma people to share the love of Jesus with them, as with all the people in the Czech Republic.


We also had time for a little fun. :)

It was a good time for our little team and a great time of prayer on the train ride home for all the seeds that were planted that day.
