"A Sermon on Every Page"...

Sometimes the hardest part about moving is leaving good friends and family behind. Wouldn't it be great if you could take them with you? And even better if they could help you with the ministry God had called you to at your new home!

When Cara arrived back from Ukraine last week with all her boxes and bags it was obvious that she had done just that! Some of Cara's "best friends and family" are her books, and now CC Prague has a fledgling church library thanks to Cara's move to Prague last April after 8 years serving with CC Kyiv. (With almost 5oo books in the library it took more than one trip to get them all here, and there are still more on the way! It's going to take awhile to get them all organized...but we'll keep you posted with photos of the library once everything is in place!)

Of course, the Bible is the only book that is truly God's Word. But good biblical books like these can help teach, encourage and correct just like the faithful servants that wrote them. It's been said that "a good Christian book is like a sermon on every page". Imagine having names like Graham, Tozer, Courson, Smith, Yancey, Meuller, Bunyan, Lewis, Elliot, Vine and Wuest on your ministry team?! With all these books, they are!

With so many English-speakers in Prague we are sure that these books will get a lot of use. In addition there are Russian and Ukrainian books that we pray will find their way into the hands of people from those countries that are here in abundance, too. And already there are a few titles in Czech and that number will be growing regularly...along with more bookcases!

Colorado Springs Sends Its Best

One of the best things about being a missionary is meeting a lot of short-term missions teams. One of the worst is that they are only short term! A team from Calvary Chapel Colorado Springs was here recently en route from Germany and on their way to help out CC Roudnice.

We were really blessed and encouraged by the maturity, heart for God and for missions that the team showed despite the fact that the majority were just in high school and for many this was their first overseas mission trip.

But just in case you thought this team was all seriousness...we did have some fun...

And the sword came in handy helping the team to keep track of Jason as he lead us through a fast-paced tour of the city.

Thanks, CC Colorado Springs! Hope to see you again!

It's a Girl!

Babies are born all the time, but they still are so amazing!

Even though we haven't met this little lady yet, she has already captured our hearts .

We'd like to introduce Yun Ah.

Our prayers were answered recently when our friends Yung and Eunhyong gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby girl.

She already has one of the greatest advantages in life, parents who love her dearly.

Please join us in praying that God would continue to bless Yun Ah and her parents in every way.

We know that He watches over them as closely as Yung and Eunhyong watch over this little one.

Our Loss is Spain's Gain

It has been raining here the last few days in Prague but we are sure the sun is shining in Spain. Maybe not according to the weather reports but rather because a bright shining light just flew from Prague to Spain.

Noelle Swedlow was with us here in Prague for
just a few months, but the impact she made on the laying of the foundation for Calvary Chapel Prague was significant and will always be appreciated. Even though we knew that when she came here should would be eventually returning to Spain, it was still hard to see her go. She will always be a part of our team.
Noelle was always ready to help, and not just to help, but with a smile and a cheerful attitude no matter what was required. Here she is putting together the sack lunches we give away to the homeless.
When she and Cara moved here to join the team neither had ever even met each other, but they quickly became fast friends. Cara credits Noelle with being one of the main tools that God used to really help her through the first few hard months of cultural transition, etc.
It was hard to find pictures of just Noelle because she was so often with someone...helping, encouraging, or just having fun....that is Noelle.
Here she is with Sharka celebrating each other's birthdays. She made friends with Sharka during the Easter outreach at the student dormitory.
This may not be the best photo of Noelle, but to those who know her it speaks volumes about who she is. Not only does it showing her doing one of the things she loves, but she is going for it, giving her all, wanting to win the prize, not worrying about whether she is recognized or not, and having fun in the process! We love you Noelle and know God has you in the palm of His hand. You are welcome back to Prague anytime!

So You Are Ready for Some Football?

Jason's secret identity is #54, defensive player for the Prague Lions.
This isn't your usual missionary activity, but it is a way that Jason has been able to get to know people in the community and be a light while doing something he loves - play football!

Remember the Easter Team?

Pictures keep coming in from the team from Calvary Chapel Bible College in Vajta, Hungary that was here at Easter time and it is a blessing because we can remember what God did during that time all over again!

Here is their whole team including our team. Click here to see the original posts about that Easter outreach.

The Bible College team stayed at a local student dormitory and we invited some of the students they met there to an Easter dinner at Cara and Noelle's house, complete with worship and a short Bible study. It was a great time.
