Feeding God's Children

The months of September and October have come and gone but the love of Gods children continues throughout these cold Fall days. In the past two months Calvary has been going out on Friday afternoons looking for the homeless living in Prague and giving them food and trying to love on them with God's word.

Basically we at Calvary Chapel come together on a Friday or Saturday afternoon and prepare lunches that include sandwiches, fruits, and cookies so that the people who are hungry are fed. We have been also trying to feed the word of God into the men and women who suffer on the streets of Prague by speaking to them, leaving bible versus in their lunch bags, and of course giving them the opportunity to come and worship at Calvary. We have experienced some great opportunities and have met some powerful people in our street ministry. We have been blessed with help from those who are not even living in Prague but just passing through. God always seems to provide.

Though at times it seems that giving food to the poor does not solve anything we at Calvary know that God can use anything to bring a person to Christ, even if it is just a small lunch bag with a few bible versus in it. To see the smile's on their faces and the curiosity of why we give them food glorifies our God. Feeding the poor gives us a chance to have powerful conversations with these men and women and a chance to love on them and pray with them.

We ask for prayer for those who are wandering the streets lost and alone. Though they are poor and dirty we are still all of God's Children and Calvary hopes to continue feeding God's children. We also pray that God will bless us with guidance and introduce people into our lives that can help us so that this ministry can be used to glorify our Lord and Savior. Jason has a few great ideas for the future and if it is God's will we hope to use those ideas.

1 Sam. 2:8 He lifts the poor from the dust-- Yes, from a pile of ashes-- And treats them as princes sitting in the seats of honor. For all the earth is the Lord's And he has set the world in order.

We hope to keep you all updated more and apologize for the tardiness of this post!
